| Paulo Coelho has a new book entitled “Brida”. As an avid fan of Coelho since I read his book – The Alchemist, I can’t wait to check and visit a bookstore to grab a copy of his new book. For sure, it is jammed-pack with wisdom, mystery, passion, and journey to spiritual world. For now, I will be content to take a glimpse of what is available in the net (double-click the book at the left to get you there.) As I read the prologue, I was struck with the lines of wisdom below... ... In life, each person can take one of two attitudes: to build or to plant. The builders might take years over their tasks, but one day, they finish what they’re doing. Then they find they’re hemmed in by their own walls. Life loses its meaning when the building stops. Then there are those who plant. They endure storms and all the many vicissitudes of the seasons, and they rarely rest. But, unlike a building, a garden never stops growing. And while it requires the gardener’s constant attention, it also allows life for the gardener to be a great adventure. Gardener always recognize one another, because they know that in the history of each plant lies the growth of the whole World. I thought for a long time that a builder is a most noble profession. But, it seems, being a farmer is a far more rewarding career. Paulo has a point. And this makes me proud of my late father even more... |
